Hey Fella's

I have my Hero 4 Black attached working fine with my Solo gimbal. In the settings I have set to record during shot but it does not seem to do that, am I missing something here like is there something else I need to do to get the camera to automatically record when I run a smartshot? What is your expierience with this does it work for you?

Cheers Bill

You may want to give a bit more info, like what software/app you're using. Have you upgraded to a green cube/open solo or are you using a stock solo (I ask because you can loose smart shot abilities if you do a botched install or upgrade). So please, give more info and we'll see if we can help.

Stock Solo, Solo App, Gopro has 3DR recommended firmware version in it every single function works 100% but it does not Auto Record on Smartshot and it is set to in the camera settings.

Version 3 is the firmware that 3DR used to collaberate with GoPro during production of the Solo as I understand it.

Probably should add in what political party you swing with too... JK

I have 3 GP Hero Blacks, 5 drones. Each GP is running Version 5 with no issues. The only thing you have to do with Version 5 is manually turn on the camera before take off. The start/stop recording features work just fine.

Is the OP under the impression that Smart Shots can start and stop the recording themselves? Only one I know of that does any shutter triggering is Pano. But then I don't use many beyond Cable Cam and Zipline. And have always preferred to trigger on my own.

I guess the capability is theoretically there but I don't think it is implemented?

Yep that is exactly what I thought that during execution of a Smartshot the recording happened automatically and then stopped at the end of the Smartshot. My record and shutter button both work fine when activated on screen no problem at all there. I just saw the setting in the Gopro settings menu and tried it out but no worky. So maybe it was one of them things that wasn't implemented which is a real shame as it could be handy in a scenario when you forget to press the record button :-)
