Gimbal protector

Hey guys I have a question about the foam block I’m using. Is it necessary to use the foam gimbal protector if the solo is being stored in the solo backpack? I noticed deep inside the back pack where the gimbal rests there seems to be a sort of foam eggcrate so I’m curios if people need to even use the gimbal protector? Seems like the foam in the backpack is enough.

I've never used the foam block ...and to this day, two and a half years later, my gimbal operates perfectly. So IMO I say no need!
