Got one, I mounted mine with 20lb. 3M Mounting tape, 1 side on the ant., other side on the tablet mount. Rock solid!! Cheap, and done in 2 minutes.Looks fine also.

However you decide to mount it, get one of these. It really does make flying Solo what you thought it would be like and for $100 bucks you cant beat it.

Rich really is the connoisseur of fine projects and I imagine I will be copy catting his design shortly. Nice job Rich!
is this the tape you ussed or did you use the red stuff?
thx D

1x ITELITE DBS PHANTOM PLUS for $109.00
I am ordering mine now!

Took delivery on the DBS Mods antenna(s) yesterday. One for P3 and one for Solo. The P3 comes with a REALLY nice stainless bracket and clips on to the bar of the Phantom 3.

Since there is no bracket available for the Solo I was going to start from scratch and build one out of aluminum with material anyone could buy at Home Depot. However, it turned out with some cutting and filing the stock P3 bracket worked great.

I am going to paint the panel black today and while that is drying I will probably do some finish filing on the bracket.

This took about 15 minutes to fabricate but I have a large shop full of tools. Its basically just cutting, filing and drilling a couple holes.

First of all here is the stock P3 bracket. As I said its a nice piece !

This is the bracket held up to the Solo controller where the mount clips on. I cut off the sides (yellow), cut out the area with the white dotted line and drilled two holes shown in black. I used screws with nylock nuts and the solo mount captured the nuts perfectly so they would not spin as tightened.

Here is a picture of the cut down mount installed.

And here is the final picture with the Samsung Tab 3 (8.4").

The way the Solo tablet mount is decided there are a million ways to easily mount the DBS panel with just a bent piece of aluminum strap. The panel has two studs on the back with wingnuts so its easy to attach.
looks like the wires from antenna to receiver are criss-crossed

Hi.. Can I ask a silly question?

What is the point of wanting to fly far away? I just don't get it. I'm not intended to anger anyone but simply to try to understand. When I was in the 3rd grade and we had these urinal troughs in the boys bathroom. We would stand at one end or the other and see who should shoot pee the farthest down the trough. Flying the drones 'X' amount of miles for the simple reason of saying you flew X miles seems very similar to me. kind of a grown boys pissing contest...:);)

Having said that, my interest is be able to maintain complete control and contact with my drone so therefore, I want a strong signal that maintains 100% contact, thus control.

In conclusion... I want one of these antenna's for my Solo I wonder how it work with the new LightBridge 2 controller and my S1000? Time will tell.

So, no posts or reports on how this antenna operates since well over 1 month. Anybody care to report???

Well your analogy of peeing in the trough is probably right on for some of the long distance flyers. Just like auto racing, racing bikes or anything else.

But in my case, I live in a rural area. I can sit on my deck in a nice cushy chair and fly two or three miles up rivers to a near by lake. Cross fields and watch wildlife and never fly over a single person. All close to a cup of coffee.

I'm just over 5 miles from KORD but inside their Class B and inside the Class D airspace of another and communicate regularly with the D tower.

Yea really rural here. Just on edge of city. From my front yard. As you can see there are lots of places to fly and can do it by just going over fields and rivers.
