Chopping the stock mainboard?

I am going to throw solo guts in an Alien 680 but need to "trim" the stock mainboard down for astetics. I figure it's possible to pickup the leads for the escs closer in and ditch the led control wires as the stock escs will nit ne used. My original thought was to buy a standard carrier board but it doesnt apear to be avalible seperated from the 2.1 and it would be less fun.
Has anyone done this as of yet?

The Solo mainbrd is a multilayer brd. If you try and "chop" it down your are going to render it non-functional.
