So, almost finished Ground School. Doing my last test on Friday.

Figured I'd spend the day researching liability insurance and take a stab at my SFOC application thats been sitting in my inbox the last week for Option 2 - Fixed Criteria RDIMS-#11264838 Class C, D, E, F and G airspace.

Wow the paperwork.

That is all.

Happy flyin'!

Would be cool if you posted a follow up of when you submitted the application and how long it took to get a response.

Best of luck!

Thanks, I will for sure. I was told they put them thru as fast as possible but could be up to 20 days for approval.

Yeah and of course the 'who you know' factor is a consideration I am sure. I have heard of one company flooding them with well done SFOCs to the point where it was easier for them to issue a province wide. This is after you have a few approvals under your belt and your qualifications are a major part of a decision like that I'm sure.

Yeah I wish I had a better idea of what I'm doing but the applications they gave me are pretty straight forward. Fill in the highlighted areas.
It's creating the manuals that is the most time consuming, but I guess I gotta prove I'm capable. I heard there was someone on here with a SFOC template filled in for Solo, but yet to hear back so pulling the trigger on my own and see what happens!
No doubt "who you know" may be a factor, but I was also told by the woman at Civil Aviation that as of May 22 2016 all SFOC's in the prairies are now standing SFOCs for 1 year that cover Man Sask, AB and the Territories with 3 different levels of airspace.

Option 1 - Fixed Criteria
RDIMS-#11243868 Class E and G Airspace only

Option 2 - Fixed Criteria
RDIMS-#11264838 Class C, D, E, F and G airspace

Option 3
RDIMS-#11972787 ( This application allows for operations not covered by either of the two above, (i.e. night, 400 feet AGL or above in all classes of airspace and proximity to aerodromes, more complex operations, LIDAR etc.)

I'm applying for Option 2.
