Can gopro be replaced with something else?

Can the camera be replaced with other cameras besides gopro? Is there a wiring diagram?

depends what you want to achieve, a few of us have 1 inch sensor still photography cameras mounted up on custom built mounts for still photography only, better than gopro 4 for still photography. plenty of info and pics on this forum of our set ups

As @Robpower already mentioned- Yes it is, question is what's your purpose. Video/Foto? Action type camera, other camera?
Direct compatibility out of the box with 3DR Solo drone and gimbal is only with GoPro up to version 4.

What I want to know is the transmission of images. If I don't use GOPRO and use a normal camera, can the images be transmitted to the APP of the mobile phone?

Do you mean the iactual mages, (no - unless you do some programming) - or the FPV video from HDMI (yes) ?
