app says updated, controller says needs update

I just got my solo today and went through the setup guide and got to the update. after getting to the step that says connect to solo wifi after the green check mark shows up on the screen, the screen on the controller then says, update required. i tried to solo wife, it gets connected, then i go back to the app and it shows me how to connect to solo wifi, i "x"ed that out and it popped back up. so i connected to it again went back oto the app and then it happened again, please help and let me know what to do.

Many times you'll need to start the app without the bird and controller on to download any updates. Obviously you'll need a internet connection to download. For example a phone will connect to Solo and then disable your data access to the internet, so that maybe the reason for what you are dealing with...

Sometimes restarting everything will correct these issues. Also if you have GoPro, you'll need to update the camera as well....for Solo's use.
