Will the auto tune function help with the solo? It was very helpful with the Iris+. I tried to activate it from Tower but Solo did not respond. With the Iris I configured it to one of the extra channels on the controller.

I certainly would not even consider an autotune on Solo. Autotune was designed for those putting the Pixhawk in your own build. I have used it and it works great. But the Solo is pre-built and tuned and I don't think you can get it any better. I'm sure their fine tuning for the Solo went beyond what AT could ever do.
