1st fly with solo

I'm a newbie on drones flying (although I'm a free flyer for 30 years). After some experiments with the solo and mission planning I start to fly solo manually with the controller (I'm a researcher). I try to fly the solo without any gimbal and camera. As soon as I start to fly the solo gain some height (one meter) and starts to begins to turn on itself continuously. And then it goes to SE direction until it crashes. Fortunately this experience are done in a clean area (beach) without the presence of people.

Any help on this will be great.

You may need to re-calibrate your controller & or re-calibrate your compass ?
Calibrate your compass via the APP! Calibrate your compass EVERY time you fly out of your normal flying area

Personally, I would go for "re-calibrate your compass" via your Solo App.
