    Solo neglected

And the lithium battery in your controller is much more user friendly that the lipo flight batteries. It'll sit at pretty much any charge level without issue. It just doesn't have as high an energy level as the more demanding lipo...

Solo battery turns itself on ????

I've been looking through previous posts from over the past couple of years and maybe I just haven't found it yet... Is there a description someplace of how the battery management circuitry calculates "actual capacity" as displayed on the madhacker's analyzer doodad? Maybe it stores discharge...

Solo battery turns itself on ????

Interesting that the lack of "break in" easy flying seems to be what caused enough rapid outgassing in those batteries to puff them. I guess I haven't had that experience yet, although I don't tend to run full throttle for extended periods very frequently or make repeated rapid direction changes...

Solo battery turns itself on ????

Rich, sorry about the tangent, but I'm wondering did those puffy cell(s) happen even treating those batteries nicely or did you maybe discharge them too far a few times, store them in too low a charge state or some other thing? They seem to be so stable, which maybe speaks well of the cell...

Solo battery turns itself on ????

Speaking of fire loving, I have yet to hear of a Solo battery going up in flames, and I'm not sure I've heard much about puffed up battery housings from swollen cells. I've got 7, all still in reasonable health, most of which I keep in a vented 50 cal ammo box in a vacant corner of concrete...

Keep losing signal at about 300 ft up

Perpendicular meaning to the radiation pattern as previously described. Of course, you'll always get less loss with a circular polarized antenna on the controller, as its easy to lose correct alignment with the stock antennas...

Keep losing signal at about 300 ft up

My experience is thast -59 is not low unless you're competing with stronger signals... and it seems you probably are. So it appears you need to get more signal there or fly elsewhere. Using the stock antennas oriented perpendicular to the Solo may do it... otherwise youll need to use a...

eBay Auction Selling Solo, Gimball and Backpack for $72 - 25 Sold

People hijacking other folks eBay pages is becoming all too common. Anytime you see something advertised for 10 or 20 cents on the dollar for actual value, it's a safe bet that's what it is and it's all about hoping you're gullable enough to make a donation. Fortunately eBay policy and/or...

    Battery down in 3, 2 , 1 ..... solo software problem ?

Fyi, the electronics on board these smart batteries takes care of balanced charging, on/off finctioning, tracks a lot of data (which you can access most of using one of the two battery analyzers I'm aware of... I have the one from madhacker), etc... but it has no effect on modulating the output...

    Battery down in 3, 2 , 1 ..... solo software problem ?

It's true that any product can have a manufacturing defect. My experience with the 7 I own has been very good. Normally I'd expect several hundred cycles if properly cared for. B&H still has them for $30 with free shipping...

    Battery down in 3, 2 , 1 ..... solo software problem ?

I'm assuming you realize that LiPo batteries are unlike other types of batteries and must be cared for properly? If you, for example, typically run the battery down to a low state of charge and leave it that way until you charge it to go fly again weeks later... or if you fully charge it and...

Looking for a "how to" calibrate batteries

Nice pix, by the way! If you found a good way to take the case apart so it can be reassembled, that would be really handy to be able to build new batteries.

Looking for a "how to" calibrate batteries

Yep, that would be a failed cell. [emoji4] It looks to be time to fully discharge and dispose of it (small light bulb works well). For Sneb, your cell dropping to 1.7 v is shot, so don't worry about doing permanent damage to it... it's pretty much done.

    Digital Gimbal Cam

Digital image stabilization appears to have some real promise. Just for fun, I recently picked up a Parrot Bebop 2 from B&H on sale for $240 and it has such a camera onboard. Although not 360, it shoots 1080p by digitally moving the image being shot around on a larger fixed sensor in real time...

    Leaving the group

I must say I find a lot of good stuff on this site just by doing a little looking and scanning the weekly email of highlights... Im not sure this thread would qualify as a highlight, however... :-) I must also say that CNC74 sounds a bit like Senator Booker from NJ: a tad too much hot air and...
