Just got my Solo out of prison, 3 or 4 years in storage, and got it to turn on as the batteries were still at 75%. Actually got it in air and down quickly. Got to buy a gopro again. Unfortunately I have a Samsung phone, who knows about the wifi. Taking my time.

Would love to fly Solo across the Colorado River getting footage of the casino hotels etc. Figure access easier from parking lots on the Bullhead City side, wondering if anyone has flown there. Sunrise time most likely. Or perhaps one might know of another location along the river, I am open to...

Been thinking about getting Solex, reading the manual and seeing the "find me" feature is a big plus. Could have used that one time out in the desert.

Flying out by the wind farms near Palm Springs is a trip. The worst that has happened to me was when the wind gusts caused the gimbal to basically collapse, just hung straight down, and so in effect flying back only with a view of the ground below. Return to home didn't want to work and flying...

Can you post a photo of the shield attached to your 3DR controller and point out any mods etc you might need to do to get it to fit?

If you like to tinker, this may be the drone for you. If you want to fly way out there, this is not the drone for you. If you want a bad ass looking drone, this is it. If you are looking for support from the company, I would suggest going in another direction.

Seems to me, a direct blow to the head from a Solo at speed might kill someone. I echo the OP's opinion about flying in the city so I go way out to nature where Solo can be solo. But that's just me.

No one has touched this so I will. You sound just like a good friend of mine who I call an "accumulater." He calls his self a collector. He had 12 or 13 guitars, all high end. So far as he hasn't shown any interest in drone flying, look out if he does. He really doesn't use the stuff he accumulates.

I live in Santa Ana and have only flown my Solo a couple of times in the city so I can't really comment about OC. I tend to fly mine out in the desert where I know I will get no complaints, cause hardly anyone is there. The goal for me is not to become a great pilot but to get competent enough...
