I can confirm that the 2.4 update did that to mine to. The update didn't change the parameters but yes mine does not face next waypoint.

I just use the end of nail clippers to push the record button. It is a hassle but works for me. Love my hero 3. Hero 4 is just out of my budget right now.

I use a Hero 3 black edition not the plus with firmware upgraded to the latest and I just chose (other) for camera options. I have to manually start stop recording but I have excellent video feed and recording 1080p.

I had the same problem. I have in my parameters the yaw set to face next waypoint on RTL. After watching the gopro footage, I noticed after I hit return home the copter wanted to turn, then immediately faced straight again proceeded coming back to me backwards. I download the parameters in tower...

I'm pretty sure it won't land where you are. Maybe hover over you in the boat.
