3DR Gimbal work without solo? Thoughts?

Hello, This will not work. The gimbal attitude estimation is done onboard Solo. The products cannot be separated. You could potentially do it if you had a Pixhawk wired up to it with the correct firmware.

Hi Lance, Has 3DR addressed your support ticket?

    3dr solo drone propellers help

If they hit something they can tighten well beyond "finger tight," in which case a wrench can sometimes be needed to remove them. Otherwise they should be removable with fingers. The props loosen in the same direction that they spin in flight - you should be pushing on the trailing edge of the...

    Tips For New 3DR Owners

Not necessary. Compass calibration is entirely independent of location. It is only necessary if you've added something magnetic to Solo or if Solo's compass has been near a very powerful magnet. On top of that, it is actually calibrating the compass while flying.

    FPV with solo and gopro

Actually, that would require decoding and re-encoding the video stream, which would add significant latency. So it is almost certainly possible, but you might not like the result.

Solo Gimbal won't work after 1.3 update

SSH into solo and type the following command: ls /firmware and paste the output. This guide should be helpful: Accessing Solo | 3DR Solo Development Guide Or contact support if you'd prefer.

    Drone crashed

Jubair is correct, one of the motors is shorting out and the battery is shutting down to prevent anything from burning.

Calibration Error - Please restart SOLO

I'd contact support - it is likely you have a failed inertial sensor.

How do we make smooth transition from one ROI to another ROI in Tower?

Unfortunately ROI changes don't really slew properly. Cable cam was designed for exactly this sort of thing. Changing camera pan won't help much.

How can I land the solo drone manually?

ardupilot-solo/motors.pde at master · 3drobotics/ardupilot-solo · GitHub It doesn't really do anything - it only works because pulling the stick straight down would've worked.

How can I land the solo drone manually?

I wouldn't recommend commanding a yaw on the ground before Solo has detected a landing. A+B+Pause is the only thing that will disarm Solo while it is flying. As a 3DR employee and a safety-conscious pilot I wouldn't condone hand catches, but I'd have to say I would love to see someone come up...

How can I land the solo drone manually?

Landing manually is easy. Pull down on the throttle stick until the motors turn off. The disarm stick gesture doesn't actually matter. Solo disarms immediately upon landing in FLY or FLY:Manual and the stick gesture won't disarm Solo unless Solo is landed.
