Lol. The "mod" cuts the remote video feed audio so you only hear his mic. It probably needs to be installed because your B button is hard wired to the function. Total BS. I'm pretty sure the controller isn't open source so it's not a software hack.

Try Settings->General-Storage & iCloud Usage-Manage Usage See what kind of space your photos are taking up as well as the 3DR app. I'd imagine if the 3DR app wrote a broken file its usage would be huge. Mine says 203mb which is probably the app & flight logs.

The OSD transmits through the FPVF and makes it hard to see the screen wether or not your recording.

Could well be. Although I'd imagine a mishap ends with a downed aircraft which means they've got the wreckage or witnesses of you recovering it. Either way you're on the hook. The registration just means they don't have to do any investigation into ownership.
