Sorry. I got it from Groupon. I didn’t provide a link because that deal (2nd gen 2013 model 16Gb new with warranty) has expired. The only ones they currently have listed are factory refurbs and 1st gen. When I was looking I just Googled “ASUS Google Nexus 7” and found a number of offers.

There seems to be a lot more speculation than quadcopters flying around! At the risk of making things worse… Have you considered that the “gimbal problem” and resulting delay may not be down to 3DR at all? This isn’t your run of the mill gimbal we are talking about. It has more functionality...

I have not yet seen anything official from 3DR on this but, someone asked the same question on DIYDrones and 3DR CEO Chris Anderson replied- “I think 7" is about as big as you want to go, to keep everything nicely balanced. We mostly use iPad minis and Android Nexus 7s”. 4G may be a help in that...

I like printed materials too but you make a good point. Also, I would prefer a well written manual in any electronic form (even though harder to use) over a printed manual that was written in another language and then poorly and misleadingly translated.

According to 3DR founder Chris Anderson posting about the Solo on DIYDrones- "All the documentation is in-app" and "It will be launched at the same time as Solo (end of May), on both iOS and Android".

I already get odd looks. I like it because it doesn’t say “I hold expensive kit. Steal me!” Pelican-style hard cases and backpacks with company logo are dead cert give-aways.
