I don't have a Gimbal yet like many but have been using a Nexus 7 2013 as my main Solo tablet.
It won't load the 3DR APK from PlayStore. 3DR told me it didn't have the power to run the app as it was one those older bad ones. So used APK Downloader to place it on the tab anyway. Seems to work OK after 20 hours of use. I also bought an ASUS ZenPad from NewEgg as a backup for $80 if the Nexus starts having issues with the Gimbal.
If anyone wants to give the 3DR app a go on tablets gone bad per 3DR....here ya go.
