I sent myself 3 Solo batteries from one part of Australia to another. They were very well packed, but upon arrival one of the 3 batteries was doused in an oily substance.

Have you ever heard of a Solo battery leaking in that way?

Any thoughts on this?

First I've heard of something like this. Strange.

See, there's really nothing inside to leak - it's not a lead-acid type battery (which it sort of looks like).

So I thought. But is there some way the lithium is suspended? Dry cell & alkaline batteries have a kind of paste inside them.

THe battery was totally soaked in oil when it arrived, unless there was something I didn't notice in the bubble wrap when I packed it, that's just strange. The other 2 Solo batteries had no leakage or mess of any kind.

strange, yes, but there's nothing inside that can leak like that.
