So I just purchased a solo , and was just trying to get any good tips or ideas for my drone, will more than likely just fly as a hobby for fun, but would like to get some good height and range out of it and some really cool pictures and video

I'm new and like to know as well. I will be getting this for Christmas so haven't personally laid my hands on it. I've been trying to research on here various things but just seems like so much stuff to sort through. Thought maybe someone could give a simplified list of necessary items to look at. Such as any upgrades recommended (firmware and software), Pixhawk green cube?, what's the difference between solex and solo app, gps upgrade or shield?
