Reading through the Solo manual again. This question popped into my head. What kind of pan and tilt radius does the gimbal have. Will it do a 360° pan? It's it a simple 90° tilt (forward facing to facing down)? I'm not overly worried about more tilt, but very curious about panning.

No pan. You pan the quad itself. Tilt goes from facing straight ahead to looking straight down.

Ok, so what are the two "gimbal controls" on the solo controller? One on left looks like a paddle, on one right looked like a dial of some sort. This gimbal is listed as a "3 axis" gimbal. So does it just do enough panning to not have left and right wobbles in the footage?

Paddle of left controls tilt and the dial allows you to select a preset degree so that you can have the gimbal pitch up and down in the range specified and in the time specified. So you can program it to go between say 30 and 70 degrees and tell it to perform that sweep in 20 seconds or whatever you choose. I think it's up to 60 seconds? Not sure.

and that preset performs and ease in and ease out movement
still amazes me how well thought out the control options are
