controller has white screen

After opening my controller to tighten an aerial nut, I now get a white screen for a moment when i power on, and while charging the display and the Backlit buttons won't turn off.
Also when switching the controller off while it is being charged, the windmill animation freezes and the display and buttons don't switch off either.

What could I do to rectify this?

It is like the power save is broken

Open it back up and see what you disconnected or broke.

I gave up as upon inspection, I could not see any physical damage. So I ordered a replacement.
