Hi Gary I flew it out near Mission this morning. Just getting used to the solo software, flying some shots and in manual mode. I travel a lot so most of the use I'll get will be while out of town. So far I'm loving the solo. Cheers

Just picked one up off amazon (third party battery), mind you after receiving it it looks to be a 3DR battery with different stickers on the bottom side and a thin plastic piece on top covering the 3DR logo (I can actually see the shape of the 3dr logo under this thing plastic piece)? Not sure...

Ah man, sorry to hear! These failures are freaking me out. I've flown my iris+ for 2 years without major issues and zero failures . I'm getting nervous, my Solo arrives in a couple weeks, I may just stare at it instead of flying;)

Imo Solo ain't going anywhere. The capabilities of this quad are just to great. I'm sure 3DR will unload it or allow others to further develop it, if in fact they are going to wash their hands of it. I'm going to just enjoy it as much as possible for as long as possible. For me it's not...

As far as I know 2.4 for android app has not been released yet. So it's not an option.
