Is it required to have android wear for this tower to work with solo?

Just set Tower to use the UDP protocol for use with the Solo

Thanks. I had done that but it kept requesting I have to wear something. Finally I deleted the tower wear app and now it connects.
Off to explore the tower abilities today.
