Solo Smoke

Smoke came out of my solo. I'm not sure if I can still use it.

While resetting solo, I held fly + power. After check updates appeared on transmitter, I put toothpick in pair button & powered on solo. Then smoke immediately appeared.

That is most certainly not flyable. You can salvage all the other parts though.
 
I would love to know what I did wrong so I don't make the same mistake. Should I recycle the battery? Make I put the toothpick in a wrong hole?

I can't tell from the photo, but it was assumed in the past the conductive GPS shield could make contact with these components. Essentially shorting these components out by bridging. It was not a common failure, like a defective component failure. Most learned to install the shield with more care and the issue seemingly resolved.

That is most certainly not flyable. You can salvage all the other parts though.
