I decided to backup Solo, Controller, and Pixhawk sdcards, While removing Pixhwak sdcard it cracked, and now windows wont recognize it.

I went ahead and formated a new 4GB sdcard with FAT file system, and inserted blank sdcard into pixhawk. I booted up solo, it was able to boot and pair with the controller. I shut everything down and removed sdcard to see if it has something in it. I was surprised to see files .Bin and a log file. I did a test flight everything seems to work as expected.

What is the purpose of the sdcard in pixhawk, and how did it function with a blank sdcard. My understanding is that Pixhawk firmware is push via main solo system.

Should I be flying? What will happen to pixhawk if I do a factory reset?

The SD card in the pixhawk is for log files and terrain data. The firmware and other operational stuff is all in onboard memory.
