I attempted to get footage with my Iris + while riding on the back of a 4-wheeler but whenever I got about 300 yards from launch the copter shot up into the air and started to return to launch. Is there a way to turn that off? I DO NOT like not having control over this beast.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Angela- the distance from launch failsafe is set to roughly that distance. You need to connect your Iris to Mission Planner and open up that failsafe parameter. I'd suggest however you use the follow-me function. You did not specify if you were using that mode. Technically, the beast is under control if RTL upon failsafe is exceeded....just not your control if you do not have the RC transmitter nor GCS tablet handy.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
