New Solo

hey all, just got a "new" 3DR Solo, it has never been flown, and it still says "preflight update, go to solo app to update before first flight" looking through this forum, it seems that the 3DR Solo app has been discontinued. do i need to download 3DR Solo app (i have iphone 11 IOS 14.2) or should i use alternative to run, if so, good alternatives?
