Article in the Wall Street Journal Friday, 8-14-15. FAA's former top drone official says it's unlikely a Quade could take down an Airliner. It would toast the engine but the plane could probably land safely. The real danger is Helicopters. According to the article the Feds are all over this. They've been collecting data for a year now. There is a small UAV coalition, which is an advocacy group headed up by Michael Drobac. They are being proactive in assuring Quade flying is safe so we don't get screwed over. Those of us that are into the commercial side of flying should probably support this coalition. Any other ideas. The FAA is threatening heavy fines and jail time as a solution on top of very restrictive rules for us.

He is correct. I work in the airline industry and seen plenty bird, lightning, and hail strikes and the damage done to AFCT"aircraft" on arrival. Most likely at the speed the passenger carrier planes are going damage to the engines would be minimal and these quads would be sucked in just like a bird

I've seen a a simple pigeon strike damage the front nose of a plane, and it landed safley. And just several months ago recently. A 747 flew threw a hailstorm and a small golfball sized piece of hail caved the whole nose in, they landed safley. Damage with our quads would post similar results as well..
