Interesting. After reading the article, you can certainly see both sides point-of-view. Will be interesting to hear the FAA's take on it...

The drone flyer looked to me to be taunting the officer shooting at it with the non lethal rounds. If I were a cop and I saw a drone coming straight at me, I to would attempt to defend myself by taking it out of the sky.
The other clowns shooting at it with high velocity rounds should be spanked for their actions.

Apparently none of these guys are bird hunters

As soon as the flight turned towards the officer the case is closed in my opinion. So much for sense and avoid...seems this pilot is defective. or, wink-wink, a well known DJl flyaway incident.
