I thought some members may find the linked video interesting. Several points are made regarding the China's electronic industry and quality within the Pearl River Delta region. And then some depth of details regarding open source, their term rather than our concept of open source, which is anything and everything produced within the region.
For me it was revealing on multiple levels and the candid conversations leads me to understand the difficulties in getting material produced and with some sense of protection for proprietary development. The key in that interview was, "find someone you can trust" when talking about product accelerators or working directly with the manufactures.
