If you fly around water a lot this is the bees knees

Received mine yesterday. Very light weight. Not mounted yet, but I see reports of 10 or more minutes to deploy, in which time my drone may have drifted to Mexico. Hope I don't have to find out. :)

Also ordered a variety of floatation to try.

its pretty cool, someone posted it on face book.
I would never have thought of a rod recovery tool for a drone

Someone on this forum has mentioned these before. I'd rather have something to keep the bird floating, but if this works, that's second-best I suppose. I've had pretty good luck salvaging drowned electronics...

I have a getterback on everyone of my birds. The cost is nothing compared to going into the water 1 week after the ice flow. A man with experience is not at the mercy to a man with a theory.

Here is my latest abomination. I suspect that a water splashdown would float this entire system upside down, similar to a person wearing a life jacket with the zipper in back - or a dead body. :(

This includes one GetterBack, leg floatation, and a yellow floatation belt that's easily removable with a 'clip' to change batteries. The way it exists now, the belt is within about 1/4" from the rear props - about the same distance that prop protectors end up when installed. There is also a Marco Polo tracker on the underbelly.

The camera system is the GoPro 3D Dual Hero System with 2- GPH3+B in a waterproof case to 60M, mounted on a Solo fixed mount.

I haven't flown this floatation model yet and I would like to test the weight vs. floatation first and add some Velcro to Solo's body for that belt. I have flown one mission to test 3D clips and the video wasn't pretty. The entire rig is vibrating and needs Mercalli - but I'm not certain what Mercalli will do to my registration with separate processing of the two clips.

You can batch process in mercalli now
Yes, but I am thinking that each clip (L-R) is slightly different and Mercalli will see them differently and apply fixes differently, messing with registration. Could be over-thinking it.

It was like that but now it processes each clip separately and puts them in a media bin. They export separately too,

This entire thing was edited stabilized and stitched together in elements on an i5 surface pro 3. It took a long time but worked.

that is flying your Mod Rich, with the heat bent stock cable.
the video itself only had minor microvibes at cross winds

I'm not seeing that clip (or clips) as the same thing. Both 3D clips have to stay within the same reference registration or the viewer sees the separation (or feels it with nausea). Both clips are combined together in editing software (Director or GP Studio), and it amounts to playing 2 clips simultaneously in perfect sync, frame for frame.

Not certain of the algorythms in Mercalli, but if when processing it takes one of the clips and zigs to correct it, then in the other clip it zags to correct it, all registration could be lost for a few frames. Then, later in the 2 simultaneous clips, it may pop back depending on how Mercalli has processed it.

I may have to look at editing and finalizing as 3D, then running the completed 3D file through Mercalli and see if it holds up.

ETA: One way to think of a finalized 3D "movie" is two clips running in perfect sync, in parallel, that have been edited within that perfect sync, in series. Editing multiple single clips to a final cut is basically serial only.
