It was a great day to fly today. I headed out to the BCRCC airfield today with my Solo, 4 charged batteries and my Hobbyking CloudSurfer.
Results with the Alfa... Not bad at all for $20.0! 2100ft out, 400ft altitude is right where the signal was iffy.. less than one bar but still connected.
I didn't wait for RTH to kick in, I chickened out of going any further.
I could bare see the Solo, if I looked at my controller display, and then back at the sky it took me a while to spot the solo. Next test will be with FPVLR!
I got to test the maiden flight of my CloudSurfer! I got to see what it's like to ride the thermals. Someone with a lot of sailplane experience in the BCRCC helped me out with the maiden flight... It appears that 45+ minute flights with the clousurfer are possible. Hopefully I will have video posted soon of the CloudSurfer taken from the Solo posted soon.
