So I acquired this cheaper than a solo gimbal

I’ll see what may be done with it....

That is not a cheap Gimbal I've seen those go for a few hundred bucks, perhaps you can port that thing over to a Storm32 controller they are about 25 bucks shipped...

someone on youtube got 25% there - it's just the rest of the way to a fully working one everyone wants to see- might wanna keep eyes out for the FLIR gimbal for SOLO- that looks promising just not at a commercial price point- they'll be NOS soon
