so i recently installed the gimbal head and i LOVE it but i have noticed in some of my shots i catch the props or skids in my frame, is there any way to avoid that or is that just something i have to deal with? my error? any help or thoughts would be much appreciated

with the stock lens shoot Medium or Narrow FOV (Field of View)
or
Modify the lens to shoot wide

Even then, aggressive yaw and tilt could still end up in the shot
Shoot slow and even when you can

I agree with all this.
Also, I shoot with the gimbal no higher than 85 degrees to keep the props out of frame.
Using ND filters on the GoPro will virtually eliminate prop shadows on the lens.
