First UK drone pilot convicted for flying over packed football grounds

I get it - they finally got their first conviction. A precedence has been set however; how come no numbers/data about the flights were reported other than the typical sensationalized descriptions that make everyone start pointing fingers?

I read all story as well as the UK Guidelines, how come the story doesn't indicate how far away he was flying. 50 meters is roughly 160ft . How is/was that distance measured? I mean keeping that distance from people in a stadium and Buckingham Palace would be fairly easy to do with altitude alone.
