Controller stuck in preflight update mode

I did a factory reset to my drone and controller. The drone powers up and also got the controller paired with the drone. Now the controller is stuck in preflight update mode and I can't finish the update because the app doesn't work anymore on any of my android devices. I bought the Solex app. Is there anyway to do the update from the Solex app?

Please search the forum. Literally 3 other threads about this issue in VERY recent memory. If you can't find your answer in those then please be very clear about why not.
