This is what I made up in a flash a good while ago for setting down the controller before and after launch, has worked well, but is there anything less rustic available? I might have a go at something a little more rigid and less fragile but if I could buy something I would.

I'm hoping the wife will make me a 3D printed bracket that I can attach to my own camera tripod. I know I could make something with tape and glue also, but obviously want something small, light, easy to use and clean looking.

Let me know if she does, I'd be interested as long as it's just a holder for pick up and drop down, having to unclip anything would be cumbersome in a hasty moment. I like to click 'start mission' from a laptop in the car and turn around and grab it as I watch Solo launch.

Hmmmm. I think then what's needed is a drop in, pop out solution with an "optional" lock for those that may want something a bit more secure if they are using a heavy tablet for instance. The optional clip would have to be either removable or be able to fold out of the way for the people who need faster access. The solution also needs to be lightweight and not bulky, also has to accommodate different antenna's on the controllers also and not impede the controls in any way.

The angle is the key to it sitting in place and not falling back, but I reckon it could be without any lock at all if the front part wraps over the top and grabs the first inch of the controller. That way the back could be completely open ended, so neither tablet weight or a breeze grabbing the hood won't be able to knock it over. It would have to slide in forward, just like a cell phone holster

last night i just realized that the solution to this was right under my nose the whole time. I contacted a US company i know well and may have some exciting news for a professionally made product.

Old thread but figured id post something i did to hang mine at home in a semi decent fashion. I could midify the design to work on a tripod or wherever really, if some people were interested.PHOTO_20180419_113724.jpgPHOTO_20180419_113731.jpgPHOTO_20180419_113742.jpgPHOTO_20180419_113830.jpgPHOTO_20180419_113849.jpg

hmmmm.... may have to put some of my machining into practice once more- but I'm thinking just adapting the open slot in the extension arm of the phone holder- but I like these ideas!!!
