Hi all it's been awhile since I've flown drones anyway I got a couple of solos for cheap I've already started modding one

First issue miKrotik R11e-2hpnd 1000mw won't work it will burn up the 3v power supply on the imx6 I have gone thru 2 boards I'm working on a solid 3v supply for the pcie lines now

I can only find 3 new imx6 boards in USA I already ordered the 4th one if any one is interested in this project let me know please

Haven't tried controller yet since I can't find just the imx6 board for it so I'm using mikrotik R11E 2hnd 800mw in it

Running on tight budget right now so updates and board testing as I can afford it

I have R11e-2HnD and only in artoo not in the drone

I have the R11e-2hpnd in my drone and controller right now there rated at 800mw I was trying to go to R11e-2hpnd which is 1000mw output so 800mw is the maximum current load for the pcie circuits I'm working on upgrading the circuit right now to handle the current from the 2hpnd @Professorpip has some good schematics of the imx6 boards so I should be able to figure it out shortly

other question is - what's the improvement and purpouse?
I want as much of a range safety as possible I leave in a very dense populated area plus I like to tinker like my heading says I started out in the days of scratch building and piecing together things to get them in the air so I have a stock one and I'm going all out on this one orange cube lidar ads-b the works

I live in a area of high rises and over a 1000 wifi signals in a single city block hence I don't want interference also the stronger your signal is the more responsive it is have you ever taken your laptop out back and noticed your internet is slower that's because your signal is weak or the delay in radio broadcast between to radios that's because one has a better antenna than the other and if I'm on my boat I'll feel more secure flying it out farther and because it's how I am it's full built or nothing at all I'm a tinker just like my cars stock runs good but not good enough for me

I'm not saying you shouldn't pursue your radio modification project. I do however want to point out [for others who may read this] that you seem to have a SERIOUS misunderstanding of propagation delays, network throttling, multipath, and antenna theory.

'Stronger signal' does not in any way guarantee network responsiveness. Well, I guess it maybe kinda could for certain definitions of the term.....

Having a higher output power WILL NOT prevent interference. In urban canyons it can in fact exacerbate it.

Slower network performance when 'out back' is likely due to network frequency congestion [i.e. your building shields your radios when inside of it] and dropped frame overhead, rather than a generic 'weak signal'.

Broadcast delay has about a thousand causes, but antenna mismatch very rarely comes into it when discussing 2.4ghz signals. The most common causes are multipath and adjacent channel interference. Both are cause for extra processing cycles.

Yes you are very correct no matter what I'm going to have interference but the cleaner the signal the less the interference is going to be noticed on the stock solo I'm very fidgety some time up sometimes banking correct antenna and stronger output cleans it up I've already confirmed this with the r11e-2hnd chips but I'm wanting more so I'm going with R11e-2hpnd Ive been messing with electronics since the 80s I'm not a kid been building drones since the 2000s when you had to piece together break out board and or design pcb

The start of my build is finely happening still have to order orange cube and ads-b everything else is coming together
