I think my gimbal arm is bent...

Maybe we take baby-steps and start with an air-boat first. ?.

    My big blunder

Yes I did both of those things. Issue of crash was User/Pilot error. It was my 5th time ever flying a drone, or anything for that matter and mistakes were made. I tried to get a video of the pond, got to the far side, tried to raise elevation above the trees, but i was slightly thumbing left...

    Looking for some parts...

I am getting a lot of replies to this post in the past 48 hours. Unfortunately I crashed my solo in a tree and then had it fall into a pond for a few seconds, at this point im not sure if the bird will fly again. I will reassemble it tomorrow and test. I won't be buying components for the Solo...

    My big blunder

Bought a crashed solo 3 weeks ago and repaired it. Took it out for its first working video flight with a refurbished gopro hero5, and I managed to crash it into 40-50ft tree on the edge of a retention pond. It beeped and beeped for half the night, keeping all my neighbors up. Got a tree climber...

I think my gimbal arm is bent...

I only have a gopro hero5 to test the hdmi with. I managed to break the hdmi port off my gopro Hero3 black by 3d printing a case that didn't give enough slack for the static mount and the tension of the cable popped the hdmi port off the gopro mainboard on the maiden flight. I did get it really...

I think my gimbal arm is bent...

Bending the arm back has gotten some results, now if i force gimbal in to certain position, I am able to move camera up and down with controller, but it makes sounds of resistance. I need to adjust the silver knobs I think to calibrate it, then do a software calibration and then I'm hoping it...

I think my gimbal arm is bent...

I bought a crashed solo, and the gimbal has the headbanging issue. I have inspected the ribbon cable (even under the plastic housing parts and where it attaches to the mainboard). The cable appears to be okay, and I also tried to adjusting the counter weight/balances (the silver knobs) with no...

    Looking for some parts...

Thank you, I will tinker with it tomorrow some more and try that. I inspected the ribbon cable for damage and it seemed okay. The metal arm looks a little off to me, but that just might be how it is made for balancing purposes possibly, I'm not sure. I'm just really happy to have the drone up...

    Looking for some parts...

I just bought a crashed 3DR Solo for 100$ (my first quadcopter/drone), and I managed to get it up and running with a factory reset/firmware update and a new motor, unfortunately the gimbal seems to have the headbanging issue. I was looking for a 3DR Gimbal replacement, a Leg replacement and also...
