It only becomes an issue when you need their help. After one of DJI's last updates I lost my video feed...i tried everything to fix it....had to send it in...8 weeks later I got it back and it's been good ever since...but i'm afraid to do any more updates now

I agree with all you've said BUT...P3P is cheaper, doesn't get the distorted effect of the Go Pro camera, now has added follow me and other flight modes, longer flight times (vs. fully loaded solo), has a fully functioning gimbal allowing you to switch between photo and video and settings...

Can you set the gopro to shut itself off after 4 minutes of inactivity? I need to do that. I will tell you that if you leave your gopro on (and it doesn't auto shut itself off, like i did) the gimbal won't have enough power to fire up your gopro in the dead battery condition. Maybe if you fly...

Why would you want to power the gimbal off and on? But no you can't do that...and yes the only thing you can do is turn the recording on and off (if the camera is set to video) or snap a picture if the camera is set to photo....and OBTW....you have to MANUALLY turn the camera on before you fly...

On a ipad mini it's saved right in your photo album....

I've had video feed issues myself....first make sure you are using 1080 60...and NTSC not PAL. Then update your hero 4 with the latest software...even if you did it before......update it again (you'll have to manually do it per the instructions on the gopro site, because it's going to tell you...

sgs 182...you make all very valid points.....and as an owner of both I would validate what you say....but i can't tell you how much it hurts when something goes wrong with the the P3P and you have to request an RMA....first of all good luck getting through to talk to a live person! Then when...

I do have an upgraded antenna and wifi...but i've seen 9000 feet! I would be scared to death to send my P3P our that far....and i don't know if there is any upgrades available that would take it out that far....another thing i like about the solo....lot's of people working on making a better...

Don't fool yourself....my P3P can not fly as far out as my solo....and at least i now when my solo loses signal it will come home......i'm not that confident about my P3P...for that reason i'm afraid to test my P3P!~

Was thinking that I could use my HDMI converter to VGA from the transmitter hdmi port to my fatshark goggles....does anyone know if this is possible?

I'm not sure...but i thought with all the people flying gimbals someone would have an answer for me...i posted it on FB too...but basically "crickets" so far for an answer....but to your point at least i have a gimbal...and i can tilt the camera with the controller...who hooo!:-)

Yes powers off normally when it is not in the gimbal...and worked perfect when i had it mounted with the stable mount ......although i had to turn it off and on manually..but it did record to the card like it should. I didn't think about the video/picture option..but i do like using 1080/60...
