They will know within a couple of days. Your video editing looks pretty good. How long have you been flying? Is your gps rev a or b? I have uav app that also monitors solar flares. Not much u can do about it besides not fly during those times. If u have rev b I would think imu or motor pod failure.

I put money it was your gps or motor failure. I think 3DR said some had imu failures. 3DR support has been pretty good. When my had a gps issue and did a bunny hop on landing they sent me new props.

You can use tower and have it fly it for you. Plot the mission set it off then drive down to your friend and watch it land.

How high did you actually get? Which antenna? Thanks-Sid

well at least with all these test if i decide to go fishing with my drone i know how much flight time i would have carrying that squid or fish to the drop off point :)

I have 3 and 4 black. I used to shoot in 2160 but for me and my limited editing skills it is easier and faster to edit 1080 video due to size of the file for post processing. I use capture software because I'm cheap :-). 60 fps imho is more important.

i flew 6 batteries yesterday. i noticed that with every battery, the gps was getting faster locks. my first flight usually takes 3-5 minutes before it tells me fly. by the 4th battery, by the time the solo fully booted and connected to wifi, controller said fly. thought that was kind of cool.

crazy fish, u have to change the FS-throttle parameter to 2 if u don't want the drone to RTH once it loses signal.

i've been downgrading my video on my gp4b. 1080 video is all i upload to youtube and it looks pretty good. smaller sizes and easier to process with gp studio. 1080/60. i still use a gp3 on my other 3dr. I run firmware 5 and just manually turn on the camera once i power up 3dr.

$3.99 for a set i just stock up on spares. Just like my 2 uav and 3 gimbals and 6 batteries. Any time you crash, you're guaranteed to lose at least 2. In my first month of owning it i had a couple of landing and manual landing practices go wrong. probably went through 8.

i hit 900M with just the alfa. that was far enough to be honest. you lose the drone visually if you don't keep looking at it past 700M. If i flew anything past that, A. it would be illegal and B. i would do it with Tower or Mission Planner.

hmm. the fail safe throttle option 2 is is continue with mission in auto mode. does that mean in normal solex or 3dr app flying since that isn't mission mode means it would RTL? meaning is the function exclusive to tower.
