They are here!!! Carriers! Carriers! Carriers!

I guess you should charge a fair price based on an equation similar to (pricepaid x demand / units available=Redcon1 gets 2 free, or something like that. ;)

    Gimbal Production

I guess you weren't aware that 3dr got out of the consumer drone business a year or two ago and everything since then has pretty much been a community diy collaboration kinda deal. You can still get "new" (as in new old stock) Solo gimbals on Ebay and other places for way too much money, or you...

They are here!!! Carriers! Carriers! Carriers!

How many dollars? When will they be ready? Where do they ship from?

What's so special about the I.MX6 board in the Solo?

Is that code part of OpenSolo? Could it be tweaked to work? Forgive my ignorance but software is not my cup of tea. Surely RPI can process video.

What's so special about the I.MX6 board in the Solo?

They can still be found on Ebay but they are definitely a finite resource and will inevitably hit a price spike the way the gimbal did and eventually they'll go away. That gets me to thinking. Isn't it just a Linux based SoC? Why couldn't you use a RaspberryPI loaded with the proper Linux...

    Alternate battery telemetry port.......

FIFY You probably should have just asked him and he could have explained about the link plus included a more in-depth MGRS explanation all while using less words.

Installing Open Solo on Stock Site Scan?

I don't have a Solo Site Scan, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that installing anything other than exactly what 3DR tells you to would murder your warranty. If the warranty is already up, then it should work, I don't know of any reason it wouldn't.

    Alternate battery telemetry port.......

15RYR5042 is a MGRS (US MIL version of Lat/Lon) coordinate that identifies 1 square kilometer 4K west of my house and inside the city limits of the bustling metropolis of Crystal Springs Mississippi. The way I got to that grid coordinate was by copying 15RYR542421, from my 3DRP profile (It’s a...

We may know the same guy, or the same guys, actually. Do you live anywhere near 15RYR5042?

    Alternate battery telemetry port.......

I've only been building these things for about a year or so but I learned very quickly that electronics can commit suicide and when they do, it's often sudden and seemingly without reason. Once again, thanks for your time and advice.

    Alternate battery telemetry port.......

No offense taken, just want to clarify that it really was just a typo. I've actually got another motherboard and would have already done that but I'm in the middle of a frame up build and wasn't sure if I was going to use that whole motherboard, PH2 and IMX6, or just put the IMX6 on a carrier...

    Alternate battery telemetry port.......

I knew you were squared away, just didn't want Mike to think I could mistake a RC antenna for a magnetic compass. With my signature, I'd hate for people to get the mental picture of me lost in somewhereistan with an FM antenna trying to find north and falling into wadi. .

    Alternate battery telemetry port.......

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but I feel the need to clear some stuff up. I am so sorry that I misspoke and caused all of this confusion and whatnot. My bad. I'd like to assure you that I do know the difference between a compass and an antenna. That's why, when XevetS pointed out the error...

Is there an official 3DRPilots S.O.P. for a font that will denote sarcasm? There should be. Two actually... Type A for just joking sarcasm Type B for being an a-hole sarcasm. The above quoted post was type A, so was comment number 2 on this thread.

Thank you, I guess I'll learn to repair a trace then.
