By to my Solo. Getting KARMA

well I have to admit I was impressed with Karma and now week later I'm impressed again, this time with Mavic. they can't do "Solo-like" smartshots but they are different type of drones - portable drones. it's still early days but those few available video reviews are looking good. I can imagine...

By to my Solo. Getting KARMA

I had exactly same thoughts, I think we need @franknitty69 to give us his opinion :) If I was buying my first drone today and Solo didn't exist, I would probably get Karma, but as it is, getting Solo for $499 or $599 (as quite often available these days) is a better deal. I would still choose...

So has anyone found a cable other than

for me stock cable always worked better and lasted longer than any ribbon cable I tried. I don't remember exactly because it's been long time ago but I damaged my original stock cable after maybe a month in a crash. after that I went through 4 ribbon cables from Relish while waiting for stock...

    Bell Gorge, Kimberley, Western Australia

cable cam smart shot. first 400m (1300ft) of the flight the Solo was not in my sight as it was flying "S" path through the gorge and I was behind the second corner with these massive rock formations between me and the Solo. signal must be bouncing of the rock walls otherwise I have no...

    Windjana Gorge, Kimberley, Western Australia

Still on the trip, I now have hours and hours of footage and it's becoming increasingly more difficult to choose which one to process and upload due to limited processing power of my laptop and not having internet connectivity most of the time. Happy to report that my original "orange" Solo is...

that bit is not GoPro (I hope you realize that), that was Nikon D750 with 14mm lens, can't remember the exact settings, but more likely something like f/2.8, ISO 1600, 20secs exposure, taking a shot every 25 or 30secs for a period of 2-3 hours.

    Classic rally car

I had Git2 camera (= cheap "gopro" copy) on ground, I used sound from that one. You can probably notice a tripod on ground when you play it in HD.

    Software Update - Version 2.4.0

yes, I could do that. it would be much easier to understand if none of the new Return Home features worked, but the Return to Me feature works when I press Return Home button, so certainly 2.4 update has been applied. But it doesn't work when I lose signal. "Hover" works as well, just that the...

    Software Update - Version 2.4.0

explained here what I meant : so in first case, that's something you have no control over, for example you are doing Orbit around Lighthouse and when Solo momentarily disappears from your view behind the object you are orbiting and you lose signal, in this case Rewind acts as failsafe by...

    Software Update - Version 2.4.0

Thanks Frank. what you described above is exactly what we expected and assumed it should be implemented that way. however I tested it over 3 days now and it's not working for me the way you described, I have iPhone 5SE. I'm able to get Solo returning to me only if I press Return Home on...

    Frustrated, needing some help.

originally I had 2 ribbon cables from relish3D, first one failed after 1 week, second one failed after 1 day. I contacted relish3d to let them know and at the same time I ordered 2 more cables, they contacted me back and asked me to return those 2 failed cables and sent me 2 more cables as...

    Frustrated, needing some help.

Thanks for making that video, very helpful in understanding what's going on inside. Then it doesn't surprise me at all that a) connection on the gimbal PCB loosens over time and may wear out and b) that the actual cable fails eventually - all those compression against the inside structure...
