Figured I'd post this. After watching netflix's Bill Nye saves the world, in episode 3 our favorite drone is featured! 3dr still getting publicity!!!

If you purchased the drone on a credit card your in luck. Your card has purchase protection. I crashed my solo, cracked the airframe but it still flies. Got visa to cut me a check for the entire unit. Now it's a spare/parts drone.

I've been out 3500' with wifi upgrade and rexuav antenna. This was with 2 other solos flying right next to me. I had 2 bars still but didn't want to push it. This summer I'm going to do the long haul at the beach.

I will tell you what. My motors howled right out of the box on both of my solos with stock props unbalanced. After a quick oiling session and a balance the motors are noticeably quieter.

How did you get your solo to play the aviation voices in mission planner? I've never used the tool before, is that a default setting?

Kinda curious how this would brick your unit. Shouldnt the WiFI cards not be affected? wouldnt this just brick the pixhawk unit? You could source a new board.
