I am quite familiar with UAS laws in my area, thanks. My point is that I have not seen any official publication (FAA or otherwise) that states no night flying. Line of sight, yes, but I can see the lights of my drone much better at night than I can in the day, so that rule doesn't apply here...

I've flown with Solo a number of times, just a suggestion from my own experience? Put your rotors in your checked bags. Yes, they are plastic, but TSA has told me a few times they resemble a knife blade and are in the gray area for carry-ons. Your mileage may vary.

This is basically headless flight mode, no? With some practice, one can fly this way instinctively without the need for a special mode. Racers do this with racing quads so they can turn the aircraft around and use the camera for pursuit view.

I had a sticky FLY button, 3DR made me send back the entire unit (Solo and all) for replacement instead of just the controller. My solo was a perfect flyer from day 1. Hope I don't get someone else's refurbished gremlin.

Agree with Erik, keep in FLY mode until you have at least an hour or two of flights under your belt. You get all of the feel and freedom of controlling the flight, while maintaining the safety line of having GPS not let Solo drift on its own. An inexperienced operator putting Solo in in...
