I would still open it up and check what rev you have, only takes a couple of minutes

Replacing hdmi cable is not necessary unless proved to be faulty. Just check connections unplug from mainboard and reconnect and same at gopro end and try again.

Got my Hero 4 black from ebay used once and came with touch screen bac pac, battery bac pac and various housings and mounts. All for less than the cost of a refurb from gopro :)
