Solo comes with a fixed GoPro mount and a micro-HDMI cable pre installed. So just connect the cable to a camera that has micro-HDMI and you're set! :) Only downside is that my camera hangs up-side-down so the image in the Solo app is flipped as well. I just place my phone up-side-down as well...

I'm well aware of that. But for some reason a 4K still gives me better quality then a still from Photo mode. Can't explain it. But I've ordered some leg extenders now and I'll fly with my RX100 IV. I can use time-lapse to let it take a pic every 10 seconds and I get live view in the Solo App...

That's how I photograph with GoPro. Strangely much better pictures then the photo mode.

You can actually get these 'GoPro mount to tripod screw' adapters to just fix a regular camera to the fixed GoPro mount that came with the Solo.

No worries. I'm still relatively young, but I have to google my fair share of popular language... :p

Software and hardware

It doesn't have to be S-Log of course. But a good flat profile that gives 13-14 stops of dynamic range would be very nice. And I don't think manual exposure would be al that big of a problem to give. They can implement it just like Pro Tune is now, flip a switch when in Pro Tune to enable the...

Don't forget manual exposure control and a true Log profile like S-Log2. Two of the most important things to have to create professional looking footage, in my opinion at least.

Same happening to me on my iPhone 6 with Hero 4 Black + 5.4. Hope they fix it soon.

That just works in video for some reason. But I've found extracting stills from 4K video on GP better then the normal stills anyway. So just park Solo in the sky and shoot 3 1 second videos with -2, 0 and +2 EV comp and merge to HDR in Lightroom for example.

3DR could work with iCloud to sync them.

True. The Hero 4 Black is definitely amazing for its size. But as a photographer I'm used to being able to adjust images quite a bit afterwards, mostly talking about dynamic range. The GoPro has very little wiggle room here and the image 'breaks' quite easily. Also the stills are quite horrible...
