Worlds cheapest gimbal on a Solo

due to requests...I dug out the original 1080 video and took a look. You can see one of Solo's legs in the full size video which gives a great reference for the gimbal correction. The biggest correction occurs around 2:30 if you want to skip ahead. I have posted it full size instead of down...

PSA (Public Solo Announcement) Part 2

    1) I didn't bad mouth him - I clarified the question asked - his is an evangelist. Simple fact, not bad mouth. 2) I do make helpful videos to help the Solo community - not just reprint the manual on post after post after post. 3) I am rebuilding motor pods so that those who can't get parts from...

PSA (Public Solo Announcement) Part 2

of course he is a 3dr evangelist. He got his Solo by June 4th. How many of you got yours by then? Check the date on his first reviews on his site. I might be wrong, but I believe only reviewers, etc. would have one by then. Certainly not anyone who pre-ordered.

    Gimbal order

well, in the mean time (I ordered my gimbal in April) if you haven't seen it yet, I posted a video file in General Forums/Photos and Videos taken with a $45 two axis gimbal (+ $11 battery). So until mine arrives, I have a (admittedly sub optimal) $56 substitute until mine arrives.

sure. Shutter roll. Problematic with digital cameras including GoPro. Should be eliminated when I put the 4x ND filter on it.

Worlds cheapest gimbal on a Solo

Here is the biggest part - the Solo is flying on a motor pod that I rebuilt. :-) 3 originals + one that had burned up that I subsequently replaced most of the ESC circuitry. It clearly performs every bit as well as the original. The battery at the time was one I had sitting around here for...

Worlds cheapest gimbal on a Solo

This shot shows the test fitting of my gimbal mount. The Solo gimbal cable is shown coming through the cutout as well as the HDMI cable. For the actual flight, I put the Solo gimbal cable back into the shell since it is not used. The white mounting plate is just some styrene. Come to think...

Worlds cheapest gimbal on a Solo

The rez is a product of 3 factors: 1) This was my second GoPro, but I literally just took it out of the box and strapped it on, so it was shot at the default settings (1080) 'cause I couldn't reach the button on the side to make the changes. :-) Since it was just a test flight to see how the...

    National "forest"

Yes, as GoodnNuff said...OK for Forest Service area. Still a no-no in National Parks. If ndfellow can't pinpoint the exact boundary of Mt. Rushmore National Park, The Badlands, The NPS area surrounding Jewel Cave, etc. vs. the adjoining National Forest, he could be inadvertently in the wrong...
