Cool thread. I am also of an older age, 75, and have a few 3DR's laying around. Probably, actually every model they had. Lot's of Solo's, still in the boxes, I bought when they were being fazed out everywhere. A couple of Iris+, a 6 motored "Y" that is kinda neat, one together, and a kit not...

Sometimes the push buttons will get stuck when pushed, from dirt etc around the holes. Try cleaning with some compressed air. If it is stuck on, it would probably interfere with the upgrade.

The whole Solo thing has almost died. It's a real shame, as they had a far better product than anybody else, just got put out of business mainly by dji and price cutting. Although I have seen videos of swarms of what looks like solo's......

I'd love to know how they do the swarm thing. And I do have a few Solo's laying around!:cool:

You know, with DJI possibly getting "BANNED" in the USA, the Solo might just have an increased value...... just sayin......

Hi all, as I have a few Solo's laying around, I was wondering if the supposed "BAN" on DJI products, might actually make our Solo's a bit more desirable ???? Would be funny, as DJI contributed to 3DR's fall. Just sayin.....:cool:

Good for you. I have at least 6 or 7 Solo's. A few still in their sealed box. Got a couple with upgraded wifi cards and GPS, but rest totally stock. Maybe someday, they will be worth more than I paid for them?:cool:

Sometimes, I have to re-boot the Gopro after the Solo is all fired up. And sometimes I have to re-boot the Solo.:cool:

So sad that the Solo couldn't compete with the foreign competitors. It had, and still has many features and capabilities that far surpass most of the current drones out there. Totally different procedures in the programming, up-grading, etc. etc. I've got 2 or 3 that are flyable, and can't...

There are upgraded wi-fi cards. Do some searching around....... There are 2 cards, one goes in the controller and the other in the Solo. Requires some taking apart, etc.

Neat idea. How are you going to power the light? With a scale, and trial and error, you could get pretty close to the same balance, etc. as the Go Pro. Keep us posted

There is an old saying, "If it works, Don't fix it" There are upgrades for the GPS unit, I even have one with an external GPS mounted.
