Yeah, still flying when I get the chance! I use Solex on an Android phone and Mission Planner on the computer, though. I think SidePilot is an Apple app. But should work just fine as far as I know. My brother uses it some since he's an iPhone kind of guy. ;)

If you have Open Solo 4, you do not need to purchase the Green cube. That was for loading regular Arducopter versions before Open Solo 4 was available. The guys here have done a TON work on the programming so that you don't have to purchase a Green Cube. Hope that helps. ;-)

Do you have any older iPhones around or an iPad to try the stock Solo app on? It works well on most of them. I've only got Android and Windows stuff, but my brother has all Apple and his is working great - I'll ask him what iPhone version he has.

Likely still fine, then. Some people would say to check on them and add some charge if necessary to get them up to 50% if they've dropped below that, but I would probably just leave them alone, stored in a cool, dry place. Especially if you want to sell them unopened at some point.

What are their voltage now? You want to store a LiPo at 50-70%, ideally closer to 50% for longest term storage life.

Try the old 3DR Solo app on a Chromebook, it might work. Or an older phone as was already suggested. Or just start your camera recording manually on the ground, fly it and have fun while you're saving up for Solex and purchase it when you have the funds. I understand the "don't want to spend it"...
