I know this is an old thread and I hope this isn't too off topic. I'm new to the Solo, but have upgraded my stock Solo to Open Solo, using Solex, and it is working. I would like to replace the paddle on the Solo Controller with a 3-position switch to communicate with a custom camera controller...

I just updated my original Solo firmware to Open Solo 4 with Arducopter 4.3.2. My arms are sore from myriad unsuccessful attempts to calibrate the compass. After I found, and followed, your suggestions, the compass successfully calibrated on the first try. Thank you!
